Can You Have Chlamydia And Not Show Symptoms

17 YEARS OF MARRIAGE, IS MY WIFE CHEATING? | Steve Wilkos

Its not uncommon for the chlamydia bacteria to lie dormant for years and produce a low-grade infection. During that time, you may not have any symptoms for months, or they can be absent forever.

Around 75% of women and 50% of men with chlamydia report having no symptoms. For that reason, its best not to assume that if you or your partner has chlamydia that it means one of you was unfaithful. You could be in a loving, mutually monogamous relationship and be unaware that you have chlamydia.

I Feel Like I Will Never Enjoy My Birthday Ever Again Because I Will Always Be Reminded Of This Day

I left my apartment where we both lived because I couldnt even look him in the face anymore. This hurts a lot because I know we love each other, but I dont think Ill ever be able to forgive him. He stopped messing around after getting caught, so I know its from when he was messing around before.

What should I do? Am I stupid for still loving this man after everything he has put me through?

In Very Rare Circumstances Trichomoniasis Can Be Transmitted With No Sexual Activity

Here are some of the ways you can get trichomoniasis nonsexually:

  • Toilets. That public toilet seat STI your parent warned you about is actually a rare possibility. If a toilet seat is damp, its possible to contract trichomoniasis. Outdoor toilets put you in close contact with urine and feces, so transmission may be higher.
  • Clothing or towels. According to a 2014 research review, while also rare, damp towels or clothing can be transmitters for trichomoniasis.
  • A 2011 study conducted in Zambia, found that multiple girls sharing bathwater lead to the transmission of trichomoniasis.
  • Public pools. Poop in the kiddie pool is not the only unsavory situation in a shared swimming space. If a pool is not cleaned well, trichomoniasis can be transmitted.

While these situations are all possible, keep in mind that trichomoniasis transmission by towel, bath, pool, or toilet is super unlikely compared to sexual activity.

Start The Conversation As Soon As Possible

My girlfriend has chlamydia but swears blind that she hasnt cheated on ...

Again, the best time to have a conversation about STIs is before you become intimate. This is especially true if either or both of you have had multiple partners in the past since STIs are most often spread through contact with bodily fluids, such as blood, semen, or vaginal fluids.

Other things you may want to discuss include:

  • Both of your sexual histories, including what kind of protection youve used in the past when sexually active
  • Individual risk factors, such as whether either of you has had sex without a condom or used drugs with needles

If you receive a positive test result for an STI, such as chlamydia or syphilis, and youre fairly certain you got it from your partner, then its important to talk with them about it as soon as possible. Dont wait or put it off the longer you wait, the harder it may be to tell them about it later.

I Slept With Her After We Met

He used no protection with her. Id trusted him with my heart and my vagina how could he do this?

Four months in, we went on holiday. Five weeks in Id moved 200 miles away to London for a new job and wed only got to see each other at weekends so it was great to spend five days together.

We had so much fun in Spain and it felt like wed got so much closer, with our arms around each other lying on the beach. It just all felt so perfect.

Then two days after coming home he blurted out: Theres no easy way to say this. A girl I slept with called and I may have given you chlamydia.

I was calm, thinking it was a past partner. But his next words knocked me for six: I feel I should be honest. I slept with her after we met.

My head spun and I was shaking as I fired off questions. It happened two months in two weeks after we said the L word.

How Chlamydia Is Treated

Chlamydia can usually be treated easily with antibiotics.

You may be given a course of doxycycline to take for a week or azithromycin to take once a day for 3 days.

If you have doxycycline, you should not have sex until you and your current sexual partner have finished treatment.

If you have azithromycin, you should wait 7 days after treatment before having sex .

Its important that your current sexual partner and any other recent sexual partners you have had are also tested and treated to help stop the spread of the infection.

Under-25s who have chlamydia should be offered another test 3 to 6 months after being treated.

This is because young adults who test positive for chlamydia are at increased risk of catching it again.

Sexual health or genitourinary medicine clinics can help you contact your sexual partners.

Either you or the clinic can speak to them, or they can be sent a note advising them to get tested.

The note will not have your name on it, so your confidentiality will be protected.

Will Infidelity And Stds Affect My Divorce

My girlfriend said she didn

You dont have to stay with a cheating spouse. Some people will move toward reconciliation, but others recognize it as a sign the relationship is over. Because Michigan is a no-fault divorce state, you wont be required to prove it. However, evidence of infidelity and that your spouse gave you an STD could come into play.

Michigan divorce law says that a judge can consider fault as a factor in deciding how to divide property and award spousal support . Dont think of this as a way to get back at your spouse. The judge wont.

Instead, try to separate the emotional hurt of being cheated on from the financial and practical issues in front of the judge. Please work with your family law attorney to establish what their infidelity cost you and your family. This might include:

  • Trips taken with their new partner
  • Gifts given to their new partner
  • Childcare costs when they should have been home
  • Past and future medical expenses related to STD treatments

Suppose your spouse knew they had an STD and hid it from you. In that case, there may be a separate civil claim or even criminal charges related to the intentional transmission of an STD. The chances of a lawsuit or criminal charges can encourage your spouse to settle your divorce quickly and avoid creating a record of your testimony about the disease.

It Depends On How You Define Sex

Theres a massive misconception that STIs can only be transmitted through one type of sex: penis-in-vagina sex.

But an STI can actually be transmitted during any kind of sexual play that involves skin-to-skin contact or body fluid exchange with a person who has an STI.

This includes any kind of play that involves:

An STI test is only able to test for the STIs that are currently beyond their latency period. Meaning, theyve been in the body long enough for the body to create antibodies.

Latency period

Sometimes known as the incubation period, the latency period is the amount of time between when a person has been exposed to an infection and when they can test positive for it.

Antibodies are what STI tests are looking for to determine if an STI is present. If antibodies are present, you test positive for the STI. If antibodies arent present, you test negative for the STI.

An STI test cant detect an infection that has not yet surpassed its latency period, nor any STI you were exposed to after the test.

And remember: Its possible to be exposed to an STI during any sexual activity.

Me and my girlfriend have been together for almost seven years and we currently live together . Last year, around the end of April she met a guy on Instagram .We got into an argument on the first day of May and she decided to leave n go meet him. She ends up staying with this guy in Philly for about a week. When she comes back we end up having sex and continued having sex throughout last year.Yes I know very stupid.

This past December I start having weird symptoms. My eyes started turning blood shot red. Pain in my pelvic area. But all of this occurred during finals week so I thought it was just stress and I ended up just getting treated for pink eye.

Fast forward to the end of January 2022 and I woke up and my knee is swollen. Again, I thought hey its just stress ya know. Then my eye turns blood shot red again. So, I decided to buy a knee brace, some eye drops, and continue on with life. This was fine until a week later when it became unbearable to walk because it was so painful. Also, no matter what I did to my eye I could never get the redness to go down and I started losing my vision. So I started wearing a eye patch and developed a permanent limp.
